Grizzly Bear
A symbol of America's wild lands, the grizzly bear is one of the largest North American land mammals. The grizzly bear's historic range covered much of North America from the mid-plains westward to California and from central Mexico north throughout Alaska and Canada. Today, the grizzly bear is found in only about 2 percent of its original range in the lower 48 states.

The largest land predator, the Polar Bear can weigh up to 1500 pounds.  As their name implies, they are found in the very high latitude arctic regions, of the United States (Alaska), Canada, Russia, Norway, and Greenland.  Because they have such a thick layer of blubber and highly insulated fur, polar bears have nearly zero heat loss and are undetectable by in fared cameras.

Timber Wolf
The Timber Wolf is actually just another name for the gray wolf.  It is considered endangered in 48 of the continental United States.  They range in size from 5 to 6 feet in length and can weigh anywhere from 80 to 150 pounds.  The rarest of these is the Mexican Grey wolves and until recently, only existed in captivity.

White Wolf
Also known as the Arctic Wolf.  It resides in some of the most inhospitable areas of the earth, such as the tundra and glacial valleys.  Since food is sparse in these conditions, they may travel up to 800 miles in search of prey.  Typically wolves stay in packs but often times, males may leave as "loner wolf" if they discover unoccupied territory.
