Plains Zebra

There are three species of zebra. This is the Plains Zebra from eastern and southern Africa.  They eat relatively low quality foliage.  Their  intestine is nearly 12 times the length of the zebra, for maximum nutrient absorption.

Reticulated Giraffe
The largest ruminant and the tallest mammal, the giraffe is found in the dry Sahara, typically in locations where trees are present.  Since its neck is so long, blood flow requires tremendous pressure.  Consequently it has an enormous heart weighing 25 pounds.  Though its neck is very long, it is not long enough for the animal to drink and consequently it must sit to obtain water.

Mountain Gorillas
