Bottlenose Dolphin and baby - marine mammals

Bottlenose Dolphin
The dolphin is considered one of the most intelligent creatures on earth.  They use sound to navigate and find food underwater.  They give out high-pitched clicks, about 14 times higher than the human ear can hear.  When these sounds hit solid objects in the water, they send back an echo.  The dolphin can tell where an object is located.  They generally swim side by side, so as not to interfere with other each others signals.  This system is very similar to sonar used by ships.  It is believed that dolphins communicate with one another through their own language.  They have trained to perform many tricks at marine park.

Giants Squid are the worlds' largest known invertebrates.  They can weight as much as two tons and they have the biggest of eyes any animal.   They are a member of the octopus family.  In ancient days, sailors reported seeing giant sea monsters with claws and suckers and a beak mouth strong enough to cut through a ship.  we now know these are the  giant Squid.  It was made famous in the classic story, "Twenty Thousand Leagues Beneath the Sea."  The Giant Squid is large and strong enough to attack a humpback whale.  This giant squid replica is the same scale as our humpback whale so you can create your own battle between them.
