Other Ornithischia

The Ornithopods "Bird Feet" comprise a suborder of Ornithischian dinosaurs with feet similar to a bird, a horny beak, leaf shaped cheek teeth .  The group evolved uniquely effective teeth and jaws for chewing vegetation   There are eight families.
Iguanodon Corythosaurus
Iguanodon
Iguanodon "Iguana Tooth" was  discovered in 1825 and was the first named dinosaur. It was a large, heavy beast that existed in larger numbers.  The primary representative of the Iguanodont Ornithopod family, it lived 140-110 million years ago.  Fossils have been found in England, the United States, and Europe.  Replica is 8" long.   Replica is 8" long.

No. LRP16-IG.  Only $8.95
Corythosaurus
Hadrosaurs are another Ornithopod family, and are believed to have evolved from the Iguanodon.  Also known as the "duckbills", these dinosaurs had wide toothless beaks and flat skulls with bony bumps.  Corythosaurus is the most well known North American species.  They are characterized by a high, hollow bony head that crests.  This led to its name "Helmet lizard."  The size and shape of the crest varies, which for many years lead Paleontologists to believe there were seven different species.  Not just one is recognized.  Corythosaurus lived about 75 million years ago and fossils have been found in Montana, USA and Albert Canada.  He was about 33 feet long.  Replica is 8" long

No. LRP16-CR.  Only $7.95
Parasaurolophus Maiasaura
Parasaurolophus
A hadrosaur closely related to the Corythosaurus.  Lived in the Late Cretaceous.  Found in the Western United States.  Replica is 7.5" long.

No. LRP16-PR.  Only $6.95
Maiasaura with Nest
With its broad, duck-like beak, Maiasaura (Maia's Lizard) is a typical example of the duck-billed dinosaurs.  Since its discovery in 1978, thousands of fossils have been found in Montana.  They apparently lived in herds and nested in colonies.  Many nests have been found.  Lived 80-75 million years ago.
Replica is 8" long.

No. LRP16-MA.  Only $15.95
Stegosaurus
This representative from the Ornithischia, suborder Thyreophora gets its name "Roof Lizard" from the big bony plates that upward from the neck, back and upper tail.  It was about the length of a bus; it's small head ended in a toothless beak.  It lived 150 million years ago.  Fossils have been found in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming.  Replica is 6" long.  Same 1:40 scale as the others.

No. LRP16-ST.  Only $7.45
